Monetary Donations
Monetary donations are always welcomed, and every dollar makes a real difference. Your generous contributions enable us to purchase needed items at reduced costs, thereby maximizing the impact of your gift. If you wish to make a donation, checks can be made out to Tri-Cities Food Bank. Alternatively, you can donate quickly and securely through our PayPal link. Donors may also identify Tri-Cities Food Bank on their United Way donor card.
For donations that are to be mailed, please send them to our Central Office at 420 W Deschutes Ave, Kennewick WA 99336. This will help us process your donation swiftly and efficiently.
In-Kind Donations
We also welcome in-person donations at any of our locations during operating hours. If you need assistance or have questions about making a donation, please feel free to call us at 509-582-0411.
We accept the following in-kind donations of food:
- Food in original sealed cans, jars, boxes, and bags. The item labels must be intact.
- Any fresh produce from your garden.
We do not accept the following items:
- Meat or frozen items.
- Items that have been cooked or prepared at a home or restaurant.
- Clothing or household items.
- We will send an acknowledgment letter for each donation. This letter will fulfill all IRS requirements for you to claim your generous donations as a deduction.
- If further documentation of any individual donation is required, please notify us at the time of your donation.
- For written receipt of PayPal donations, please enter your mailing address information, otherwise your PayPal receipt legally suffices.
- To receive credit for your donations for the current year, donations made by check and submitted by U.S. Mail must be received in our office by the last working day of December.
- Due to our accounting system, donations received after December 31 have to be logged for the following year. Due to postal delays experienced during the holiday season, and to help ensure credit to the correct tax year, we encourage donors to mail gifts several days in advance.
